Let your MP know about Mental Health Watch
The Royal College of Psychiatrists has introduced a new tool to allow users to track how the mental health system in England is performing.
Mental Health Watch allows you to track trends and assess progress - locally, regionally and nationally.
The site brings together multiple NHS data sources, as well as results from a quarterly survey of the views of over 600 psychiatrists working on the frontline. Mental health professionals, patients, commissioners or anyone with an interest in health services, can now easily analyse local and national performance data and trends in mental health.
The site uses 25 performance indicators, divided into six themes – care, workforce, finance, quality, access to care, and leadership. These indicators will be updated every quarter, where new data is available.
It is an easy to use tool and we think it’s important that MPs know about Mental Health Watch, and how it can help them better hold the system to account. We think MPs will be encouraged to use the tool if they can hear from mental health professionals in their local area who believe this tool will be an invaluable way of tracking trends in mental health services.
Are you a psychiatrists working in England? If you type in your home address postcode below, it will bring up an email ready to go to your local MP asking them to try out the site and take action to call for more support for patients with a mental illness.
